GreyWolves purchased by Barchus family

GRESHAM, Ore. – The Gresham GreyWolves have been purchased by Scott and Misty Barchus it was announced on Monday night.

The purchase was announced by Jerry and Lisa Walker who brought their West Coast League team to Gresham last season and started the Gresham GreyWolves.

“We are very happy to turn over operations of the GreyWolves to the Barchus family as they have connections with the team and will retain the best interest of Gresham and the GreyWolves,” Jerry Walker said.

The Barchus family is no stranger to the GreyWolves, as Scott and Misty’s son, Justin, is the head coach of the team. Son, Jordan, also played for the GreyWolves, and Scott himself served as an assistant coach during the GreyWolves inaugural season.

“Misty and I are delighted to become the new owners, and we are looking forward to becoming involved in the Gresham community,” said Scott Barchus. “We will operate the team with great pride and plan to make the team the very best it can be both on and off the field. We expect a very smooth transition and want to thank the Walkers for giving us this opportunity and look forward to continuing to fulfill their vision for baseball in Gresham.”

Recently, it was announced that Justin Barchus would return as the head coach of the GreyWolves for 2017.

The 2017 GreyWolves season is set to begin on June 2 with the home opener on June 5.

About the Barchus Family:  Long time residents of Keizer, Oregon, founders of the highly-acclaimed Capital City Select baseball and softball programs.

About the Gresham GreyWolves:  The Gresham GreyWolves are a collegiate wood bat baseball team based in Gresham, Oregon. Their inaugural season was in 2016, as a member of the West Coast League. Home games are played at Oslund Field at Mt. Hood Community College.
